| March 14, 2005: Google's Adsense is about to get some serious competition by Yahoo's new scheme for context sensitive text ads. I say Finally! Adsense has been enjoying virtual monopoly and although it has been fairly reasonable with it’s policies, the innovation and variety of choice can only improve with some competitive pressure. Hopefully the new Yahoo's (and maybe later on even MSN's) product will lower the spread between what the advertisers and publishers are paying. Currently estimated 60%-80% spread of Adwords doesn't sounds like a very attractive payout rate to me. More competition means more options, and there is no doubt that both advertirest and publishers would be glad to see more choices. March 12, 2005:Movies section is up and live now. Also check out ugg boots and uggs. March 10, 2005: Google is finally starting to crawl this site. There are only 15 pages in the cache, but it's a start. It will take quite a bit of time to have the site completely deep-crawled, as some sections (mainly the music ) still remain to be an unknown territory for the bot... Updating the homepage with a blog-like content seems to force the SE to come here more often quite a bit. March 8, 2005:New albums have been added into the music section. CDs 94, 95 and 96 contain great albums by The Frames, Death Cab for Cutie, Grandaddy and many more. The Frames played in Toronto last friday. The concert was a bit short (they played less than hour and a half), but excellent as always. They are a very underestimated band, and as allmusic.com put it "The Frames have been fighting it out for 15 years, issuing albums that explode in the Czech Republic and nowhere else, go platinum in Galway but can't get noticed in the U.S.A.". I don't mind though. I don't want them to become big stars. I want them to stay as great as they are! March 1, 2005: |
